31  Furniture Races—Merrillan. Bruce Mound Winter Sports Area, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Attach skis to furniture and get a couple brave friends to joint you as you race it down the front slope. It must be able to turn and stop. Trophies for top finishers; extra points for dressing up in costumes. 715/937-3841.

31  Candlelight Ski/Hike/Snowshoe Event—Millston. Smrekar Parking Lot (off Cty. Rd. O), 6–9 p.m. Raffle, hotdogs, hot chocolate. 1.5 miles of ski trails and 1 mile of snowshoe/hiking trails will be lit. Bonfire and indoor heated shelter available. Event held with or without snow. 715/284-4103.
