  Sugar-Free Apple Bars
Brenda Ruzie, Willard

Crust:

1/2 cup butter
1-1/4 cup flour
1 egg
2 Tbsp. Splenda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 quart apples, peeled and sliced
1 box (.6 oz.) Sugar-free (red) Jello (cherry, raspberry, strawberry)

Topping:

1/2 cup cold butter
1 cup flour
1 cup Splenda

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray or grease a 9-x13-inch cake pan. In a medium mixing bowl, combine butter and flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in remaining crust ingredients (except apples and Jello). Pat mixture into pan. Top with sliced apples. Sprinkle apples with entire box of red Jello. For topping, combine all topping ingredients until crumbly and sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 35 minutes or until top is browned and apples are tender.
