Sue’s Egg Casserole
Gloria Johanns, Redgranite

8 slices good-quality bread, torn into pieces
1 lb. bacon, fried and crumbled
l lb. bulk sausage, fried and crumbled
8 oz. Cheddar, cubed
8 oz. Monterey Jack, cubed
10 eggs
3 cups milk
Salt and pepper

Butter a 9x13-inch pan. Spread bread cubes in bottom; layer on meat, then cheese. Beat together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper and pour over all. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, uncover, and bake for another 30 minutes. Even better the next day reheated in microwave.
