Marge Zajda, Mauston
| 2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2 large or 3 medium eggs
1 to 1-1/2 cups milk
4 slices dry white bread |
Mix together flour, salt, eggs, and milk. Remove crusts from bread and cut into small cubes. Add to flour mixture. Mix so all cubes of bread are covered with dough. Put in refrigerator until ready to boil. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Wet hands and drop handfuls of dough in boiling water. Bring to boil and cook for 20–30 minutes until they float and are cooked through. Remove with slotted spoon and slice. Serve with roast pork, sauerkraut side dish, and gravy.
